Abstrakt
The development of information technologies encourages the search of more flexible and attractive ways of study. Distance learning becomes one of the most important alternatives of traditional teaching methods. Although becoming more and more popular distance learning provides students flexible learning opportunities it issues new challenges fir higher schools. For the implementation of distance learning it is necessary to have not only IT infrastructure adapted for distance learning but also qualitatively prepared educational materials and lecturers who have mastered new technological solutions. The objective of current research is to evaluate the readiness of Panevėžys University of Applied Sciences lecturers to provide teaching services remotely. The article presents the results of this research and the summarised conclusions. (original abstract)
