- Dążenie do osiągania doskonałości akademickiej jest uznawane za najważniejszy cel stojący przed uniwersytetami. Wielowymiarowość i kompleksowość procesów zachodzących w instytucjach akademickich powoduje, że każda operacjonalizacja tej koncepcji, każda użyta do tego celu metodologia budzi szereg kontrowersji. W artykule została podjęta próba wskazania teoretycznych perspektyw służących do oceny dokonań uczelni publicznych. Oprócz podejść, które mają zastosowanie w jednostkach komercyjnych, pokazujących skuteczność i efektywność techniczną organizacji, zaprezentowane zostały również dwie perspektywy specyficzne dla kontekstu instytucjonalnego jednostek sektora szkolnictwa wyższego, którymi są efektywność zasobowa i efektywność instytucjonalna. Nie można jednoznacznie przesądzić, która z tych perspektyw jest właściwa, ale każda z nich może wnieść wartość dodaną w dyskusjach na temat warunków, które powinny spełniać efektywne struktury instytucjonalne odpowiedzialne za zarządzanie uniwersytetem.(abstrakt oryginalny)
Academic excellence is considered as the most important goal of universities. The multidimensionality and complexity of the processes taking place in academic institutions cause that each operationalization of this concept, each methodology used for this purpose raises a number of controversies. The article attempts to indicate theoretical perspectives for assessing the university's performance. In addition to the approaches that can be applied to commercial entities showing the effectiveness and technical efficiency of the organization, two perspectives specific to the institutional context of the higher education sector are presented, which are performance as resource acquisition and the institutional rationality. It is not possible to determine which of these perspectives is appropriate, but each of them can contribute to discussions about the requirements for the effective institutional structures responsible for managing the university.(original abstract) - Dostępne w
