Abstrakt
Koncepcja smart city pojawił się w literaturze w latach 90. XX wieku jako narzędzie, które poprzez zastosowanie w miastach nowoczesnej infrastruktury ma złagodzić generowane przez nie problemy, w efekcie dążąc do poprawy jakości życia i zrównoważonego rozwoju. W literatury naukowej koncepcja ta koncentruje się przede wszystkim na metropoliach i dużych miastach, brak jest natomiast badań podejmujących wyeksponowania podejścia smart city w małych miastach. Celem artykułu jest próba implementacji koncepcji smart city do poziomu małych miast, czyli wyjaśnienia pojęcia inteligentnych małych ośrodków miejskich. Kolejnym aspektem jest wskazanie płaszczyzn, w ramach których w małych miastach przejawiać się mogą inicjatywy w dążeniu do bycia inteligentnym miastem. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The smart city concept appeared in the literature in the 1990s as a tool that, through the use of modern infrastructure in cities, is supposed to mitigate the problems generated by cities, in effect aiming to improve the quality of life and sustainable development. In the scientific literature, this concept is mainly focused on metropolises and big cities, while there is a lack of studies that highlight the smart city approach in small towns. The aim of the paper is to try to implement the smart city concept to the level of small towns, i.e. to explain the concept of smart small towns. Another aspect is to indicate the levels within which initiatives in small towns may manifest themselves in the pursuit of becoming a smart city. (original abstract)
