Poland - Abstrakt
The change of economic conditions, Poland's aspirations for being admitted among states - members of the European Community have to go a long way, requiring many transformations complying with demands of the market. Such transformations also refer to transport and particularly railways. Bearing it in mind, some restructuring activities were started in 1990 and they consisted in separating from the company PKP (Polish State Railways) repair plants, signaling equipment production plants and construction works, as well as in reorganizing the social service. Further restructuring activities aim at creation of transport and infrastructure sectors and at reduction of PKP company's liabilities. However, admission to the Community will depend on meeting demands made by those countries. It is particularly important in case of railways transport. Due to that reason some variants of the company's restructuring have been prepared (fig. 2). Implementation of such variants requires substantial money expenses and a full mobilization of the PKP company.(original abstract) - Dostępne w
