- Przedstawiono genezę powstania instytucji venture capital w USA, fazy ich rozwoju i ewoluowania, w szczególności w latach 60-tych i 70-tych, a także współcześnie. Autorka zwraca uwagę na niejednoznaczne stosowanie terminu venture capital - szczególnie dla różnych funduszy europejskich.
The aim of the article is to define venture capital and present the history of its development in the USA and in Western Europe. The article also shows the possibilities and conditions of using venture capital in the process of systemic transformations of the economies of Central and Eastern Europe, including Poland. Studying the development of venture capital over fifty years makes it possible to show significant changes in the approach to the role and conditions of development of this phenomenon and the role of state in creating favourable regulatory environment. Experience shows that this institution is useful in market transformations of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, including the Polish economy. The key condition is an active role of the government oriented towards creating systemic-regulatory stimuli for high risk investments, not towards protection and priviledges, such as preferential credits or maintaining anti-competition monopolies.(original abstract) - Dostępne w
