Abstrakt
Przedstawiono wpływ polityki monetarnej na realną gospodarkę. Omówiono czynniki kształtujące wpływ polityki monetarnej. Opisano doświadczenia krajów UE w osiąganiu dyscypliny budżetowej.

The purpose of the paper is to investigate factors influencing the monetary policy efficiency in Poland. The main research question was: why did loan interest rates respond very slowly to the central bank's actions? Findings reveled that the budget deficit the main factor responsible for both: 1) the weak response of bank interest rates to the declines in the monetary policy rate as well as 2) an appreciation of the Polish zloty. The author suggests that considerable cuts in the current budget expenditure together with lower tax rates should efficiently improve the public finance stance in Poland. (original abstract)
