- W artykule przeanalizowano poglądy filozoficzne, czołowego przedstawiciel najnowszej filozofii angloamerykańskiej, Alasdair MacIntyre, dotyczące statusu prawa naturalnego. Granice tego statusu wyznaczają z jednej strony fascynacje Arystotelowską tradycją moralną, z drugiej zaś krytyka dominującej współcześnie postoświeceniowej refleksji moralnej, prowadzącej, zdaniem A. MacIntyre'a, do zubożenia pojęcia jednostki ludzkiej i osobowości.
The range of MacIntyre's reflection on the status of moral law is determined by: first, the ethics of virtues founded upon the Aristotelian tradition, in which emphasis is laid on the realisation of the three-level moral pattern (not shaped human nature, moral prescriptions and prohibitions that make it possible for a man to achieve his goals) and community values. Secondly, by the criticism of the post-Enlightenment moral reflection leading to the moral improverishment of man. At the same time MacIntyre exposes the so-called moral fictions, which include, in his view, the post Enlightenment conception of natural law supporting the idea of the autonomous moral subject and legitimising the individual's claims of his particular development, action and realisation of innate abilities. While striving to level out the incoherence of the moral pattern the present-day philosophy of morality applies. MacIntyre demystifies natural law, which is a legacy of the Enlightenment philosophy. Instead of liberal-individualistic rights and principles, he proposes to adopt community values and principles: the common good, participation in traditions, the rules of co-operation and solidarity.
